Removalists in North Sydney
A North Sydney move is almost always a tower move, so it runs off the loading-dock and goods-lift booking, not the kerb. Most buildings lock off one lift for a single move at a time and want the dock reserved ahead, so we confirm the slot and the certificate of currency with building management before the day.

Moving in North Sydney
BriefNorth Sydney is Sydney's second CBD, and a move here is almost always a tower move. The office and residential high-rises along Miller, Berry and Walker Streets share their goods lift with everyone else in the building, so the job lives or dies on the loading-dock booking rather than the kerb. Most towers run one goods lift, lock it off for a single move at a time, and want the dock reserved days ahead, so we confirm the slot with building management before move day instead of discovering the queue on it. CBD-style kerb restrictions mean there is no bay to reserve outside the door anyway, which is why the dock matters so much. The mix here runs from corporate office relocations to apartments in the towers above them, and both want the same disciplined approach: notice to the building manager, a certificate of currency before the lift is approved, and a crew that knows how to work a busy commercial building without holding up the lift for the rest of the floor.
Access notes
ScheduleEvery North Sydney move starts with the access, because that decides the truck, the crew and the timing. Here is what we plan around:
- 01High-rise commercial and residential towers along Miller, Berry and Walker Streets
- 02Single goods lift per tower; the loading-dock booking is the make-or-break detail
- 03CBD-style kerb restrictions mean there is no bay to reserve outside the door
- 04A mix of office relocations and tower-apartment moves, both building-managed
Send the pickup and drop-off addresses with your quote and we'll tell you exactly how we'd handle it, including the lift booking, the dock, parking and any staircase that needs a plan.

Kerb realityCommon questions
NotesHow do I book the goods lift for a North Sydney tower move?
Through the building manager or concierge, and usually well ahead. Most North Sydney towers run a single goods lift, lock it off for one move at a time and book out popular dates two to four weeks early, so the booking is the make-or-break detail. Tell us the building and we will confirm the lift window, the dock height and any move-in form before the day so the move runs to time.
Can a removal truck park outside my North Sydney building?
There is no permit to reserve a bay outside the door, and the city-style kerb restrictions mean the street is not where loading happens anyway. The Works Zone permit is the only council instrument that reserves road space and it is a construction product (around $1,990 plus a $10,000 deposit, a 16-week minimum). For a normal move we book the building's loading dock instead, which is what the towers are built for.
Does my building need a certificate of currency before we move?
Many Lower North Shore buildings require written proof of your removalist's public-liability insurance (a certificate of currency) before they will approve the goods lift, and some ask for cover of up to around $20 million. The amount varies by building, so confirm yours with your building manager, and we will provide our certificate of currency for them on request.
How much does a North Sydney move cost?
Our online-quote rates start at $200/hour for two movers and a truck ($250 for three, $400 for a larger crew with two trucks), and you get a clear indicative quote up front for your specific move. No surprises on the day.
